Specification and qualification of welding procedures

Do you need a pre Welding procedure specification (pWPS) a WPS and a Welding Procedure Qualification Record (WPQR)?

You need to have your welding procedure qualified by a EU-CAB. Qualified Welding procedures and Qualified Welders in most cases is mandatory to work on pressure equipment. ECH is authorized as a EU-CAB to realize this both.

What is needed for a WPQR?

To obtain a WPQR a pre welding procedure specification is needed. Our welding engineers will evaluate on the pWPS and give necessary comment. On the basis of the pWPS a test weld is made. The weld that is made based on the pWPS will then be tested in a testing laboratory that is accredited for the tests that are needed. If the results are satisfactory and all further demands are met ECH will release a WPQR. All essential variables are precisely defined in the WPQR. From the WPQR a final WPS is derived that will serve as your workshop instruction.

Both WPQR and WPS have to be regarded as company intellectual property and therfore handled accordingly.
