What is a CO2 footprint?

CO2 footprint is synonymous with CO2footprint: a measure, expressed in tonnes ofCO2, of the CO2 emissions resulting from the use of fossil fuels in traffic, aviation, transport, production of electricity, heating, etc., which in any case includes all scope 1 and 2 emissions separately. Footprint verification according to ISO 14064 and the GHG protocols (Green House Gas) is a globally accepted method of accounting for energy use and CO2 emissions.

Assessment of CO2 footprint

ECH can verify your footprint based on the ISO 14064, the GHG protocols (Green House Gas) and the CO2 Performance Ladder. We look at the analysis of the organisational boundaries, and how the data has been collected and processed. During the verification, we also check whether the emission inventory has been drawn up correctly and whether the CO2 footprint figures are correct. ECH has experience as an accredited verification institution for the EU-ETS trading system with performing CO2 verifications. The footprint verification method is a globally accepted method of accounting for energy use and CO2 emissions. The verification earns you points in the scoring of the CO2 Performance Ladder.
