Need an entry inspection?

Pressure equipment built outside the Netherlands before 2002 and now being imported to the Netherlands must be inspected on the basis of Article 23. This is called an entry inspection. You can have this inspection carried out by the specialists at ECH.

What happens during an entry inspection?

The entry inspection covers 3 elements:

Assessment of the design and documentation;
Internal and external inspection in accordance with article 22 of the 2016 Pressure Equipment Commodities Act Decree;
Inspection before commissioning in accordance with article 21 of the 2016 Pressure Equipment Commodities Act Decree.

Who is responsible for the inspection of pressure equipment before commissioning?

As a user of pressure equipment you are obliged to inspect pressure equipment from outside the Netherlands for the entry inspection if it has no CE markings. As an installation and maintenance company you can also have this inspection carried out on behalf of the user or owner. This can make the inspection process more efficient.
